EZEMIAH = EZRA + NEHEMIAH
Ezemiah is a compound word joining the names of two Biblical prophets Ezra and Nehemiah. Although they both lived among the Jewish Diaspora during the Babylonian exile , they dedicated their lives to the reconstruction and revival of Judah, their parents’ homeland.
The Ezemiah Movement brings together youth growing up in Korean Diaspora churches to follow the examples of Ezra and Nehemiah by serving the “homeland” of their parents or grandparents – by teaching English and the Bible to children in communities outside Seoul with minimal resources.
